A Nose Job (Rhinoplasty) Is A Great Way to Enhance Your Overall Appearance
Your nose is one of the focal points of your face, so a crooked, disproportionate or overly large nose can make a person feel uncomfortable and insecure. Commonly used in conjunction with a chin augmentation, a nose job not only changes the look of your nose but can enhance the overall appeal of your face.
There are a number of ways Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery can help you alter the appearance of your nose. Whether it is a small or large issue, whether you are looking to reshape or restructure your nose, Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast can help you achieve the perfect nose. This will give you the effect you want and need, so that you can feel confident and happy with your facial appearance.
What You Need to Know, and Do, Before Undergoing Cosmetic Surgery…
It is important to remember when undergoing cosmetic surgery that you understand all the risks that are involved. That is why it is important during the initial consultation to discuss exactly what you hope to achieve with the surgery. This allows one of our qualified team to present you with all your options and to ensure that your expectations are achievable.
Sometimes in order to get your desired outcome more than one procedure may be necessary. As we’ve already mentioned, a nose job is often used in conjunction with chin augmentation. We also offer eye surgery (blepharoplasty), ear surgery (otoplasty), face and neck lifts, teeth whitening as well as other facial treatments to help enhance your looks and your confidence.
Getting a Nose Job at Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery…
There are two main ways that a nose job can be done—either working from the inside of the nose, or from the outside. Depending on how the procedure is being performed it can take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. Procedure time will also depend on whether or not you’re having any other treatments.
Whether the procedure is started from inside or outside the nose has been determined, your doctor can modify your nose in many ways, such as:
- Removing a bump
- Reducing a bump
- Bringing the sides together
- Tip of the nose can be made narrower
- Tip of the nose can be made smaller
- Tip of the nose can be lifted
- Nostrils reduced in size
As far as nostril implants are concerned this procedure involves your doctor either making an incision on the outside or inside of your nose and then sliding the implant into position.
What Happens After Surgery?
After your nose job you’ll need to wear a small plaster cast for about a week. This is for your protection. A gauze drip pad is affixed below the nostrils which will need to be changed if it becomes soiled.
For the average patient undertaking your average nose job, the recovery time is around 2 to 4 weeks.
However, if you play a contact sport like football or some form of marital arts we don’t advise you do anything for at least 2 months.
