Cosmetic surgery now trending in Turkey & Saudi Arabia!

Cosmetic surgery is now not only a fad in western culture. Women in middle-eastern countries are finding that they can improve their self-confidence through cosmetic procedures.

A recent study done by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons has found a significant increase in the number of cosmetic procedures done in countries such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia. There were 47,000 surgeries performed in 2011, a major increase for the two countries. The surgery that was most commonly requested was nose reshaping, seeing more women (and occasionally men) in these countries become a lot more concerned with appearance and beauty. ‘Why this rise in beauty concerns?’ you may ask, well, it is most likely the introduction of western culture and ideologies – including beauty and obtaining the perfect figure. This proves that self-confidence issues are universal and do not discriminate.

Due to Saudi’s recent infatuation with cosmetic surgery there has been a religious outcry. A senior Islamic authority has spoken out on the matter, deeming it may be acceptable to fix injuries incurred by accidents or birth deformities, however, it is not permissible to use cosmetic surgery for the sole reason of beauty as it goes against the ‘fatwa’ by altering ‘God’s creation’ and is considered a sin.

Beauty is about a feeling…

Saudi Arabian women show it doesn’t matter if you have to cover up every day, if you look great underneath you’ll still feel wonderful…

The practice of cosmetic surgery in Saudi Arabia may seem strange to outsiders as the women are required to wear Burkas (full body-face coverings) from the age of approximately 13. However, beauty has often been a priority for these women as they are permitted to remove these coverings for women-only social gatherings. In the past they have been known to have the most elaborate outfits beneath their black veils, including Prada bags and Dolce & Gabbana dresses, so cosmetic surgery is simply an upgrade from that ideal. While it may seem strange, in a society and place where you are forced to seal your beauty away beautification would be like a ‘treat’, providing increased self-confidence just like any other woman in western society would experience when getting a responsible amount of plastic surgery.

Boutique S-Lift

The Boutique S-Lift is a treatment which is a more modern version of the basic face lift. This procedure focuses on re-contouring the ‘scaffolding’ of the face which is the underlying fat, muscle and tissue, the skin will then be restructured so that you have a tauter and more youthful look. Another benefit of this procedure is that the recovery and operation time is significantly reduced compared to earlier face-lift procedures. The surgery also damages the skin less, while achieving your desired, beautiful and natural look.

Dermapen

The Dermapen is a simple procedure which uses advanced vertical skin needling technology. The equipment looks like a pen, hence the name, and stimulates collagen production, while improving the skins ability to accept vital nutrients through products. This procedure is commonly used to decrease the signs of scarring (including acne-scarring) through a scar-free process. The Dermapen can be used in place of classic chemical and microdermabrasion techniques to provide a youthful, radiant and smooth look.
