Reduce Adult Acne With Laser Treatments
We always assume acne will disappear after we finish high school but the truth is acne can break out at anytime…
Adults who suffer from acne or unsightly facial scars can feel quite self-conscious about their blemishes. Here at Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery we use innovative laser surgery to decrease the signs of acne and uneven skin. If you have been struggling with acne medicines, lotions and washes that can’t seem to clear your acne up, we recommend visiting one of our clinics in Brisbane, Gold Coast Mt Gravatt, Indooroopilly or Windsor.
One of the greatest side effects of experiencing acne comes in the form of scars, which can leave large areas of blemishes and unevenness in the skin. While there are various treatments including a number of creams and ointments as well as more intensive treatments such as deep peeling and dermabrasion, which appear to reduce or remove the effects of acne scarring, they can often prove ineffective, inefficient and unpleasant to undergo.
Why laser surgery for your blemishes?
Are you tired of investing in acne creams and treatments that just seem to be failing time and time again? Laser surgery might be best solution for you! Laser acne treatment is often revered as one of the gold standards in taming adult acne. These treatments can help fill in acne scars and substantially reduce oil production, while decreasing the cavities of bacteria that feed off the oil to create those little imperfections. It must be noted that laser acne treatment is not a miracle solution; often our treatments can reduce the effects of acne but not prevent future occurrences.
Is laser surgery going to work on my skin?
Here at Ashbury Cosmetic Surgery we treat many skin tones for blemish removal. When thinking about skin type there is not cut and dry answer, there is an endless combination of skin tones and types. The good news is that we rarely see a negative reaction from laser on the many skin tones we treat. We prioritise our patient’s safety at our southeast Queensland clinics, which is why we will do a full assessment of your blemishes to determine the most appropriate treatment for your face. If any reaction to the laser occurs or we feel your skin is not suited for laser treatment we will work with you to determine alternative solutions.
How does laser surgery work on my blemishes?
Lasers, work on the foundation of exciting compounds called ‘porphyrins’, which live inside acne bacteria. When the lasers excite the porphyrins, the porphyrins damage the bacteria wall, which effectively kills the bacteria. With less acne bacteria, this should help reduce the symptoms of your acne. Laser treatment may require more than one trip to the clinic however each individual is different and the amount of treatments required may vary depending on severity and your skins reaction to the treatment.
